A flu vaccination is a short appointment with a pharmacist. It helps reduce the chance of flu disrupting work, family time, and travel. NHS flu vaccinations are available if you are eligible, and private flu vaccinations are available for other adults.
Who is eligible for a free NHS flu vaccine?
- Adults aged 65 and over
- Pregnant women
- Carers and frontline health workers
- Adults with long-term conditions (diabetes, asthma, heart disease)
- Children aged 2 to 3 and primary school age
When should I get it?
Book before flu starts circulating widely. The vaccine takes about two weeks to take full effect.
