5 small habits to lower your blood pressure

One in three UK adults has high blood pressure, and half don't know it. The good news: small lifestyle changes can make a real difference.

1. Walk for 30 minutes a day

Brisk walking has been shown to lower systolic BP by 5–8 mmHg.

2. Cut back on salt

Aim for under 6g of salt per day. Most of it is hidden in bread, sauces and ready meals.

3. Sleep 7+ hours

Poor sleep raises stress hormones that push BP up overnight.
